August Round up
Jesus, August flew by. It’s been a weird month for me, no bread and no booze. Man, that was tough. But I’m feeling a lot better in myself and more aware of how I want to take care of my body.
The month started with a trip to Northern Ireland and it was surprisingly refreshing to get away from the City. We walked along the beach, breathed in that fresh sea air and ate a ridiculous amount of food. By the end of the month, I was ready for a big ass pizza and an even bigger glass of wine. I really love wine.
Here are my top bits to keep you busy for the month to come.
What to read
100 Pioneering Women by The National Portrait Gallery
Although this book is half pictures, it’s a must-read. It’s filled with women from history who have all done incredible things. Women are constantly written out of the history books and now you have the chance to bring their stories to life. Plus you get to look at 100 pretty faces.
Curl up in a corner with a big mug of tea and get ready to gasp every time you turn the page.
What to listen to
The Guilty Feminist
Deborah Frances – White is a Feminist, an ex Jehovahs Witness, a charity worker and above all, a fantastic comedian. She perfectly sums up what it’s like to be a modern-day feminist. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry (the charities she talks with have some serious emotional stories), but you’ll also discover female comedians from around the world.
